Mark Donohue is Senior Director, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications for Impax Laboratories, Inc. a $1.4 billion market-cap specialty pharmaceuticals company that develops both branded and generic products. With more than 13 years experience in the field of investor relations, Mark has demonstrated his ability to successfully develop, manage, and lead an organization’s investor relations department. Along the way, there have been volatile business conditions, crisis situations, management changes, governance issues and mergers and acquisitions. His accounting background in combination with his enthusiasm and leadership skills are just a few of his strengths that have led to increasing responsibilities throughout his career. Mark has a diverse investor relations background that stretches across three distinct industries: banking, media and pharmaceuticals. These include two NYSE-listed, mid-cap, S&P 500-member companies, and one small-cap, NASDAQ-listed company. Mark joined Impax in April of 2008 and has led the effort to restore investor confidence and positively promote the company following financial reporting issues that impacted the company from 2004 to 2008. This ultimately led to the company’s security delisting in May 2008. Since Impax’s relisting on NASDAQ in early 2009, Mark successfully established sell-side coverage with 11 industry analysts. He also led the marketing efforts to reestablish high-quality institutional ownership of the company reversing the more than 60% hedge fund ownership accumulated during the company’s financial reporting issues. Prior to joining Impax, Mark was the Director of Investor Relations for Dow Jones & Co., a global publisher of business and financial news and information. He was solely responsible for developing and executing a global investor relations program. During his seven years at the company, he effectively handled shareholder agitation during ongoing periods of weak financial performance that resulted from the swift technological changes impacting the publishing industry. He also gained experience in handling several governance issues, the forced early retirement of the chief executive officer, and a significant transformation plan that included the replacement of 60% of the top 50 executives. Prior to joining Dow Jones in early 2001, he was the Vice President of Investor Relations with Summit Bancorp, the 25th largest U.S. regional bank before its merger with FleetBoston. Before getting his start in the investor relations field in early 1999, Mark worked in corporate finance at Covance, Inc., a pharmaceutical contract research organization. He began his business career as an auditor with Ernst & Young. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Villanova University and obtained his Certified Public Accountant license in Pennsylvania. He also served four years active duty in the United States Air Force as an air traffic controller. He actively participates and volunteers his time to NIRI on both the local and national level. He currently serves on the NIRI IR Update Magazine Editorial Advisory Board and on the NIRI Philadelphia Chapter Advisory Board. He previously served on the board of the Philadelphia Chapter from 2006 to 2010. He was the Chapter’s President from 2008 to 2010, and successfully led the chapter during a difficult economic period. In 2010, he was awarded NIRI’s University of Michigan Theory and Practice of IR Program Scholarship. Board Term 2012 - 2016
