NIRI Elects Four New Board Members
Bob Burton is managing director of Lambert, Edwards & Associate’s Financial Communications Practice Group. Bob has overseen and supported IR activities for 28 years working for and with companies ranging in size from micro- to mega-cap, including leading the investor relations functions at The Home Depot, Kmart Corporation, U.S. Shoe, Penn Central and Insilco Corporation. Bob also has seven years of experience as a daily journalist in Texas and Connecticut. Bob has worked with a variety of regional and worldwide companies including Wal-Mart Stores, Masco Corporation, Gander Mountain and United Rentals Inc. Both as an advisor to companies and as member of the senior management team, Bob has hands-on experience in managing corporate activities such as initial public offerings, introducing new management, repositioning corporate strategy, turnarounds, acquisitions and divestitures, balance sheet recapitalization, shareholder proxy fights, and hostile tender offers. He is experienced in managing relationships with analysts, shareholders, bondholders, creditors, customers, proxy solicitors, the NYSE, NASDAQ, and the financial media. Bob has a B.A. degree in English from Beloit College and an M.B.A with a marketing concentration from the University of Connecticut. He has been a member of NIRI since 1988 and is past president of the Atlanta chapter. Mark Donohue is senior director, investor relations and corporate communications for Impax Laboratories, a specialty pharmaceuticals company that develops both branded and generic products. Mark has more than 12 years experience in the field of investor relations. Since joining Impax, Mark successfully established sell-side coverage with 13 industry analysts and led the marketing efforts to reestablish high-quality institutional ownership. Prior to Impax, Mark was director of investor relations for Dow Jones & Co., and as vice president of investor relations with Summit Bancorp. Before entering the investor relations profession, Mark worked in corporate finance at Covance, Inc., and began his business career as an auditor with Ernst & Young. Mark earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Villanova University and he is a Certified Public Accountant. Mark served four years active duty in the United States Air Force as an air traffic controller. He is member of NIRI’s IR Update Editorial Advisory Board and is on the NIRI Philadelphia Chapter Advisory Board having previously served on the chapter’s board and as its president. Mark was awarded NIRI’s University of Michigan Theory and Practice of IR Program Scholarship in 2010. David Myers is vice president, investor relations for Express Scripts, Inc., a leading full-service pharmacy benefit manager. He has nearly 20 years of experience in developing and managing award-winning investor relation programs. David is responsible for all aspects of the Express Scripts investor relations program, including formulating effective communication strategies and developing proactive relationships with the financial community. David was recognized for his leadership in investor relations by winning the 2010 IR Magazine awards for best IR officer (large-cap) and best overall IR program (large cap). He also won Institutional Investor Magazine’s Best Investor Relations Program in the Health Care Technology and Distribution sector. Prior to joining Express Scripts, David worked at Hussmann International, where he was vice president of investor relations, and at Great Plains Energy, where he was manager of investor relations. David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Southern California and an MBA from Rockhurst College in Kansas City. He is a past officer and board member of the NIRI – St. Louis chapter, and he frequently speaks at local universities to educate students about the investor relations profession. Deborah K. Pawlowski is chairman & CEO of Kei Advisors LLC, an investor relations and business advisory firm. Deborah has more than 30 years experience in investor relations, marketing, strategic planning and management. In 2000, she founded Kei Advisors, which has built a strong reputation for advising micro cap companies on their investor relations strategies. Prior to founding Kei Advisors, she led the investor relations programs at National Fuel Gas Company, an integrated natural gas company, and American Precision Industries Inc., a former manufacturer of motion control and heat transfer equipment. Her military experience included assignments as Adjutant, 51st Maintenance Battalion, Commander, 172d Ordnance Detachment and Division Property Book Officer for the 1st Infantry Division. A past president of the NIRI Virtual chapter, she currently serves on the chapter Board as Secretary. She also serves as President of the West Point Society of Western New York and is a director for Aspire, a nonprofit organization that serves the needs of adults and children with a variety of developmental disabilities. Deborah is a graduate of the United States Military Academy where she received her B.S. in General Engineering. She earned her M.B.A. from the University of New York at Buffalo.
