David Prichard is managing director of Chicago-based Demakos Partners, a leading investor relations and corporate communications firm providing strategic counsel and support to senior management at public and private companies, as well as private equity firms. The firm’s primary focus is on creation of increased, long-term shareholder value and enhanced corporation reputation and visibility for its clients.
Previously, Prichard accumulated more than 20 years of public company experience by holding executive-level positions in directing comprehensive investor relations and financial communications programs for a number of small- and mid-cap companies ($800 million to $4 billion) across a range of sectors, including agricultural chemicals, consumer staples, health care and automotive/industrial.
Prichard has reported to and counseled numerous CEOs and CFOs to help increase the marketability of their respective companies’ stock, attract a more stable and less concentrated shareholder base, secure broader sell-side analyst coverage, and help achieve the highest potential valuation by developing strategic investor messaging, positioning, and targeting programs and tactics. In addition to implementing executive media training programs, he also served his prior companies as the chief spokesperson for the financial and business media in conjunction with his daily interaction with the buy-side and sell-side.
During his career, Prichard has managed nearly 70 quarterly earnings cycles; created numerous investor presentations and executive scripts and speeches; implemented dozens of targeted, non-deal road shows in the U.S. and abroad; written and produced 25 corporate annual reports and other investor-oriented print and electronic materials; and demonstrated leadership in situations involving change and crisis communication, as well as reputation management/enhancement and corporate branding and identity.
Prichard is a cum laude graduate of the University of Illinois with a BS degree in communications and has completed "The Theory and Practice of Investor Relations" program at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.
A long-time member of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI), Prichard is a past president, executive vice president, program vice president and treasurer of the Chicago Chapter of NIRI. He continues to serve on its board of directors. He has been a member of the NIRI Senior Roundtable and was a charter member of the former NIRI Roundtable for Strategic Communication and Reputation Management. Prichard is a past member of the Investor Relations Council of the Manufacturers Alliance (MAPI) and the Council of Global Investor Relations Executives at The Conference Board. He also is a member of the executive committee of the Financial Communications Section of the Public Relations Society of America.
