Photograph of Christopher Wightman Chris Wightman is a partner at CamberView, and joined the firm in 2012. Prior to starting at CamberView, Mr. Wightman was responsible for Vanguard’s global corporate governance and portfolio compliance oversight programs. Vanguard, a global investment management firm, had more than $1.5 trillion in assets under management upon Mr. Wightman’s departure. He oversaw daily operation of governance and proxy voting matters for more than 180 Vanguard portfolios that held over 10,000 equity securities around the globe. At Vanguard, he served as a thought leader on corporate governance and executive compensation matters. He assisted the Board of Directors and Proxy Oversight Group with policy decisions, managed a team of more than 20 analysts and associates, and ensured accurate execution of Vanguard’s proxy voting and engagement programs. He met regularly with various stakeholders, including portfolio company directors and executives, on such timely governance topics as executive compensation, director elections and activist shareholder issues. Prior to Vanguard, Mr. Wightman was an associate attorney at a corporate law firm where he worked on business combinations and regulatory issues for financial services and healthcare clients. A graduate of the SUNY Buffalo Law School, Mr. Wightman served as a member of the law review’s editorial board and was awarded a fellowship to research and develop joint law and business school courses. He is currently a member of the law school’s Dean’s Advisory Council and serves on the alumni association’s New York City steering committee.
