Kary Brunner is Director of Investor Relations for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE: WMT), the world’s largest retailer.  Since joining Walmart in February 2012, Brunner’s achievements include broadening and enhancing Walmart’s communications to the investment community and individual shareholders.  Brunner led the development of the company’s first investor relations mobile application. He manages the development of annual shareholders meeting materials, including the creation of Walmart’s print and digital versions of the annual report.  Beyond Brunner’s involvement in quarterly earnings communications, investment community conferences and analyst days, his responsibilities include leading Walmart’s engagement with investor governance teams on ESG issues.  

Prior to joining Walmart, Brunner led the investor relations team at Nicor Inc. (NYSE: GAS), an Illinois-based natural gas energy company and a member of the S&P 500.  Before he was named Director of Investor Relations for Nicor in 2008, Brunner held positions of increasing responsibility in financial planning and analysis, management accounting and budgeting after joining Nicor in 2001.  Previously, he was a treasury and accounting analyst with Crane Company, an industrial manufacturer.  

Brunner earned a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration from Clearwater Christian College in 1996.  He is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute and was a member of the American Gas Association during his time at Nicor.
