Photograph of Adam Gerstein Adam Gerstein is a GM in Edelman’s 900-person NY office. He leads multi-disciplinary, multi-geography teams that partner with executives from world-leading brands to accelerate transformation, drive growth, and strengthen trust among stakeholders. 

Since joining Edelman in 2006, Adam held leadership roles in Employee
Engagement, Corporate Communications and Corporate & Public Affairs. Recent highlights include:

Leading all aspects of corporate and internal communications for large corporate spinoffs;

Driving an HR transformation inside one of the world’s leading media and innovation companies;

Developing and implementing a three-year integrated communications program to accelerate the transformation of the entire US sales, marketing, and medical model of a global pharmaceutical company. 

In addition to his work at Edelman, Adam led the People and Performance Practice at Capgemini Consulting North America and was deputy director of strategic communications at Citigroup.

At Citigroup, Adam helped form the Corporate Affairs function after the merger of Travelers and Citicorp. His work ranged from executive communications for Sandy Weill and Chuck Prince to employee engagement programs for more than 300,000 colleagues in more than 100 countries to industry-leading Corporate Reputation programs that increased access to financial services around the world. Adam was a core member of the global team that shaped and implemented Citigroup’s Five Point Plan, a global culture transformation effort, featured in a two-part Harvard Business School Case.

Adam started his career in New York's City Hall, where he was a speechwriter for New York City Council Speaker Peter F. Vallone, Sr.
Adam received a B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Philosophy from Syracuse University, where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa.
Adam grew up in Reston, Virginia and currently resides in Sands Point, New York.
