Prior to joining ZBH in early 2018, he was the SVP and head of Investor Strategy at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals from 2015 to 2018.  Earlier in his career, Cole led IR at Covidien and Tyco Healthcare for nine years as Vice President and Investor Relations Officer.  At Covidien, Cole oversaw IR for both the largest healthcare IPO and the largest medical technology merger in history.  He designed Covidien’s IR program from infancy in 2006 and led the effort through the completion of the company’s $100B+ merger with Medtronic in 2015. 
 
Cole’s leadership at Covidien was recognized with an unprecedented number of IR best-in-class awards from 2008-2015 including best investment community meetings, best earnings calls, and best financial reporting.  For five consecutive years (2011 to 2015), Covidien’s IR program was recognized by IR Magazine as the best overall Large Cap program in the United States.  Cole was also voted Best Investor Relations Officer – Large Cap by the investment community for each of those five years.  His tenure at Mallinckrodt brought additional awards, including Best IR Professional in Midcap Pharmaceuticals, and Best IR Professional in All Cap Pharmaceuticals
 
Cole has previously held investment leadership roles at Putnam Investments, as well as Bank of America Asset Management, American Express Asset Management, and Ameriprise Financial (now part of Columbia Asset Management). 
 
Outside of the finance world, Cole and his wife are active in the entertainment industry as producers, writers, and actors.  Their production company has three motion pictures in theatres in 2018, including the Burt Reynolds biopic The Last Movie Star.  Cole has been featured in such television programs as Modern Family, Law and Order SVU, and Orange is the New Black, and had a recurring role on the show Community.
 
Cole holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington University.  He has been a Chartered Financial Analyst since 1991.  Cole resides in suburban Boston, MA with his wife and family.
