Photograph of Brad Katsuyama Brad Katsuyama is the CEO and co-founder of IEX, America’s newest stock exchange. Brad founded IEX in 2012 as an alternative to a stock market system that – instead of governing the market in the interests of investors and publicly-traded companies – had evolved to monetize speed at the expense of long-term investors.

Before co-founding IEX, Brad held a series of increasingly senior level management positions within the trading division of RBC Capital Markets, most recently as Global Head of Electronic Sales and Trading. In this role, he was responsible for multiple global teams including electronic sales, electronic trading, algorithmic trading, market structure strategy, client implementation and product management.

Brad’s discovery of the harmful impact of some high-frequency trading strategies and the founding of IEX was chronicled in Michael Lewis’ 2014 book Flash Boys: A Wall Street Revolt.
