David Hunker Head of Shareholder Activism Defense, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. David Hunker is a Managing Director in J.P. Morgan’s Mergers & Acquisitions group in New York where he leads the firm’s shareholder activism defense practice, advising corporate clients defending against an activist investor as well as assisting clients in evaluating the potential for shareholder activism against them and developing an action plan to address any vulnerabilities. Prior to this role, David worked in J.P. Morgan's Equity Private Placement team in both London and New York where he focused on equity private placements and other M&A transactions across multiple sectors in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Russia. David has a B.S. from the University of Oregon in Finance & Economics and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
