While having an activist in their stock may be what IROs fear most, those who have never encountered this situation may not know how to effectively manage this tenuous relationship and confidently navigate their management team through what can quickly become a highly volatile situation. Given the IRO is often the first point of contact when an activist shareholder reaches out to a target company, it can be game changing for both your company and your career.
