Preparing for CEO Pay Ratio Disclosure

More than seven years after the passage of the Dodd-Frank Act, U.S. companies are preparing for one of the law’s most controversial and costly provisions – the CEO pay ratio disclosure rule. As this mandate starts to go into effect ahead of the 2018 proxy season, companies will need to think through the effects that the disclosure will have on different audiences and stakeholders – not just investors, but the media and employees as well. IROs will need to be prepared to handle their company’s messaging around this disclosure.
