Apply for the 2023 Annual Conference Committee

About the NIRI Annual Conference Committee
The NIRI Annual Conference Committee (ACC) plays a vital role in developing the educational offerings of the NIRI 2023 Annual Conference, which will be held June 6-8, 2023, at the Sheraton Grand in Chicago, IL.

The ACC is established by the NIRI Board of Directors to develop and advise on the educational content and provide general input for the program of the Annual Conference. Members of the ACC contribute their investor relations and business experience to develop the highest caliber content with the most compelling speakers on the vital topics and issues of the day. This is a hands-on volunteer role that includes actively developing session concepts, identifying and recruiting speakers, reviewing proposed topics and speakers, and seeing sessions through to execution.

ACC Service Commitment
ACC members represent the diversity of NIRI members and create educational content to advance NIRI’s mission. The Committee term is one year, from September 2022 through June 2023. Committee members are expected to participate in all scheduled meetings and calls. One-hour ACC planning calls are generally held once every three weeks from September through December, bi-weekly from January through April, and weekly in May as the Conference approaches. Members also attend two in-depth planning meetings (virtually), one in the fall, and one in the spring. Committee members are responsible for all expenses related to volunteering for the Committee, such as transportation and lodging associated with all Committee activities. ACC members are expected to attend the conference and will receive a discount off the member rate for their NIRI 2023 Annual Conference registration. Committee members who do not fulfill their service commitments may be removed from the Committee.

Why Volunteer for the ACC?
Serving on the ACC is an opportunity for NIRI members to contribute to the investor relations community by offering their expertise and perspectives to shape the education provided at the world’s largest gathering of IR professionals. ACC membership offers opportunities for career development and network building and a way to explore service opportunities within the NIRI community. IRC-credentialed volunteers can claim three (3) PDUs for serving on the ACC.

ACC Eligibility and Composition
The ACC should be representative of the diversity of NIRI membership. At least 60% of the ACC will be NIRI Regular Members (corporate investor relations professionals and investor relations counselor professionals); other ACC members will be NIRI Associate Members (investor relations service providers and others). Attention will be given to ensure the Committee is appropriately diverse in terms of geography, industry, years of experience, and other demographics.
