The Ethics Council was formed to address the significance of ethical issues in the investor relations profession and provide additional resources to the membership and the NIRI Board of Directors.  

This Council of highly-experienced investor relations professionals serves as a sounding-board and mentor to members regarding ethical matters that may arise during their practice – both for investor relations professionals and those providing products and services to the investor relations community. 

If you are facing an ethical dilemma, the Ethics Council is here to help.  

  •  This is a free, member-exclusive benefit provided by NIRI. 
  • You do not need to state the issue in detail in your initial email. 
  • Your confidential email goes to the designated staff liaison, who forwards your email to the Chair of the Ethics Council. 
  • You can expect to receive a response within 1 business day from either the staff liaison or the Chair of the Council. 
  • The Chair of the Council is a current or former experienced investor relations professional.  
  • A confidential 1:1 call will be promptly scheduled at your earliest convenience with the Council Chair or a designated member.  
  • You can expect to receive non-legal guidance to help you navigate the ethical matter. 
  • If you decide that you have received sufficient information and guidance, the matter is closed. 
  • If additional perspectives would be helpful, you may request that other members of the Ethics Council be engaged for further guidance.
